JIM GOFORTH

School Board Member

Jim Goforth came to know the Lord at a Young Life camp at the age of 15. He married his wife, Penny, in 1970, and had three children. Mr. Goforth attended San Diego State University and graduated from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 1972. He served on active duty in the United States Air Force as a Captain in the Dental Corp from 1972 to 1974. He established his own private dental practice in 1974, retiring in June 2017.

Mr. and Mrs. Goforth began attending and became members of Bethany Bible Fellowship in 1978. All three of their children attended and graduated from Bethany Christian Academy. Mr. Goforth has served as a Deacon and is currently serving as Chairman of Ushers, Chairman of the Offering Counting Team, BCA/BCP School Board Member, and Chairman of the Board’s Finance Committee. He enjoys boating, travelling, being with family, and being a grandparent.
