BCA STUDENTS SPELL S-U-C-C-E-S-S!
BCA Spellers Earn Top Awards at the 2019 ACSI District Spelling Bee

Eight Students from Bethany Christian Academy participated in the 2019 ACSI District Spelling Bee on February 8. The top speller from each grade (first-eighth) was able to attend the Spelling Bee, which took place at Whittier Christian School. The students studied diligently for months leading up the the bee and all of that studying paid off! All eight of the BCA participants earned ribbons in this year's competition. Way to go Bulldogs!
First Grade: Joshua Hoang-4th Place
Second Grade: J. D.-1st Place
Third Grade: Adam Hoang: 2nd Place
Fourth Grade: Connor McCullough-2nd Place
Fifth Grade: Kristen Olvera-3rd Place
Sixth Grade: Isaac Chikami-1st Place
Seventh Grade: Brayden Nguyen-2nd Place
Eighth Grade: Kara Gentry-1st Place
The top four spellers from grades five through eight advance to a spell off at the end of the day, and the top four spellers from that spell off advance to the ACSI Regional Spelling Bee. Seventh grader Brayden Nguyen earned first place during the spell off and will now advance to the regional bee, which will take place on February 23, 2019 at Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena.
